I am a former Army Paratrooper, and am currently a tactical team leader. Everything I have read about Operation Redwing just reinforces the fact that the SEALs are elite. The story, though heart breaking, has inspired my team, as well as myself, greatly. Godspeed the the ones lost. Thanks Marcus Lutrell. Anybody with any negative ideas about the war should read "Lone Survivor". I have loaned my copy out twice, and it has really opened some eyes.

This is a fantastic book. I am a sophomore in high school right now, and my dad is overseas in Afghanistan building FOBs. He was in the Navy Seabees, was from before I was even thought of, much less born. He's been shot at, bombed, and all other manner of things. He tells us the things that the media doesn't; what's really going on overseas. I agree with others, all people should read this book, and learn what really goes on in the world. The people say they have a right to know, right? A right to information? Of course! That's why we love our media! But people by nature are very emotional creatures. If we would have learned that those four SEALs killed the goatherders in suspicions, we would have absolutely jumped down their throats and torn them to shreds. Accusations of flying everywhere. So, no. The media does not have a right to know. You want to know everything that goes on over there? Go over there and find out for yourself.

Marcus, Your book, "lone survivor" should be required reading for every high school kid living in the United States. I recently read your book, which at times, brought tears to my eyes. Your book really brought home, the meaning of freedom that "we" Americans sometimes take for granted. Thank you sharing your story and may your friends rest in peace.

Read the book about a year ago. I am glad to have shared the experience through Marcus account of what happened. That is why you are here today, was to tell the tale of your Brothers. I visited Arlington last summer and made a visit to one of the SeALs grave sites. I just wanted to pay respect and thank you for giving your all.

My son Christopher and I read the book together last year. As we prepared to reflect on veterans day this year we started reading the book with each of us reading a chapter. We found such strength in the spirit and determination of these heroes.

My family will say a special prayer for these incredible men and their families.

Semper Fi! My Brothers!!

As a college student who plans to join the military after graduation, I was deeply moved by this book. The SEALs featured in this book exemplify the highest standards of bravery and selflessness. All Americans should have the deepest gratitude and profound respect for all men and women who wear our country's uniform, and the men in this book are no different. They live their lives in pursuit of a higher calling and for that I sincerely thank them.

I thank our military members and familys for their commitment to our county and to protection of our freedoms, which so many take for granted these days. We must remember, freedom isn't free and there are many honorable men and women who have paid the ultimate price so we have the ability to vote, speak freely, go to school, or even play sports. THANK YOU AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES! I promise you that I will never forget.
